The Latin American Journal of Criminology is a non-profit journal with no charges for publication or access to its contents. It is linked to the Postgraduate Program in Law at the University of Brasília (Universidade de Brasília - UnB), Module 5 (Criminology, Ethnic, Racial and Gender Studies).
We receive, in continuous flow system and through blind peer review, articles in Law, Criminology and related areas (Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Communication, Urbanism and Demography), as long as they are related to the criminal problem and seek to establish a dialogue with the criminological field.
The Journal is particularly interested in the publication of empirical works on the criminal question, especially those related to the Latin American context. We are an exclusively electronic publication, biannually and with open access. We accept articles in several languages (Portuguese, Spanish, English, French).
The rules for publication can be accessed at the Journal's website:
We have recently published the following Dossier: The Voices from networks, the streets and social movements against police violence and institutional racism.
Call is open for the Dossier: Politics of Decarceration and Penitentiary Issues Call nº 03 | Volume nº 02 | Number 1
Coordinators Dr. Carolina Costa Ferreira (IDP); Dr. Jackson da Silva Leal (UNESC), Dr. Luiz Antônio Bogo Chies (UCPel) Assistant Editor Júlia Silva Vidal (PhD student - UnB).
